SERVICE TAX SERVICES:
Service tax is a tax levied by the Government of India on service providers on certain service transactions, who recovers it from the service receivers who receive or purchase the taxable services. It is a kind of tax that you pay to the government for enjoying different services received from various service providers. Service tax is a kind of INDIRECT TAX because the service providers pay the tax and it came into existence under the Finance Act, 1994.
The primary liability to pay the service tax to the government is of a service provider, it is called Normal Charge. But when a service receiver is made liable to pay service tax, it is called Reverse Charge. A whole set of rules and regulations are made for a reverse charge which is known as Reverse Charge Mechanism.
